Florida A&M University

Complimenting with Color-Blending

Tallahassee, FL
Completed: January 2021

New to the Florida A&M University (FAMU) family, the Center for Access and Student Success (CASS) building focuses on admissions, financial aid and student recruitment, as well as housing the Center for Disability Access & Resources, the Undergraduate Student Success Center and several other facilities. With such an expansive building as the backdrop, Wausau Tile was tasked with complimenting the structure's exterior.

Similar to the other FAMU buildings, the CASS facilities was adorned with the traditional red brick with grey and beige accents. Finding a concrete paver to work with the buildings aesthetic was an easy task for Wausau Tile, thanks to our exclusive four-color blending. Wausau Tile is the only domestic manufacturer capable of producing pavers with this state-of-the-art process, which brings even the most complex color schemes to life. This specialized technique allows for one-of-a-kind gradients and a complete creative control to customize color palettes.

"The project managers were looking for something unique and when the architects and other parties involved saw the four-color blended pavers, they knew what they wanted." - Troy Dahlke, Wausau Tile Rep.

Combining the beauty of porcelain with the proven performance of Wausau Tile’s concrete architectural pavers, Quattro Series proved to be the perfect choice for FAMU's new building.
